Ask an elevating devices safety officer: Why am I getting a notice about overdue non-compliances?

Q. Why am I getting a notice about overdue non-compliances?

A. An inspection took place on your device by a safety officer from Technical Safety BC. At the time of the inspection, a deficiency was discovered which was in contraction of the Elevating Devices Safety Standard or the elevating code and as such, a non-compliance was written with a specified time to comply.  The time to comply has now been exceeded. Technical Safety BC requires all non-compliances to be addressed to ensure all elevating devices are operating safely for the general public. The maintenance contractor and asset owner may need to work together to determine which party is best suited to correct the deficiency.
