Electrical Technology Advisory Committee News
The Electrical Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) is one of the ways that Technical Safety BC seeks input from the electrical industry. This committee’s role is to identify and advise Technical Safety BC on issues related to technical safety, regulatory operations and service delivery. Their recommendations help Technical Safety BC develop policies, address safety risks and propose regulatory changes to the Province.
If there are issues you think should be brought to the attention of the ETAC, we encourage you to speak with an industry committee member or contact Stakeholder Engagement at Technical Safety BC. The next scheduled meeting is November 26, 2013 in New Westminster.
At the most recent ETAC meeting on August 20, 2013 topics of discussion included limited scope electrical workers; worker safety and lockout procedures; incident summaries; risk registry summaries; code compliance issues associated with industrial growth on the North Coast; and cleaning and use of pop-up counter receptacles.
Complete minutes from this and other ETAC meetings are posted on the Electrical Technology Advisory Committee section of the Technical Safety BC website along with bios for committee members.
