Incident Synopsis
On January 20, 2012 at approximately 8:07 pm, an explosion and fire occurred in the Babine Forest Products sawmill located at 19479 Highway 16 East, approximately 20 kilometers east of the town of Burns Lake, British Columbia.
The explosion and fire caused two fatalities and injured 20 people. The sawmill was destroyed by the explosion and fire.
