Incident Overview
An employee at an indoor go-kart facility saw a flash of light and received a shock to their right hand when attempting to connect an electric go-kart to charge. The employee had wrapped their hand around the charging end instead of the plastic handle. Further investigation found that copper conductors were exposed in the charging cable due to many years of repeated use. Proper maintenance and employee awareness may have prevented this incident.
