Fireplace glass shatters from delayed ignition

Incident overview:

The front protective glass shattered on a natural gas fireplace when the main burner which creates the visible flame surrounding the decorative log set was ignited from the pilot flame. After the glass shattered, the burner remained on and unprotected by the front glass. The fireplace was immediately turned off by one of the residents of the home who was in the same room. No injury or damage to the home was reported.
