Incident overview
In a family home, multiple counter appliances were placed together on the kitchen counter and shared one outlet. One of the power cords contacted the rear metal case of the toaster oven, melting the cord, and energizing the metal case of the toaster oven. On two separate occasions, the owners of the home received an electric shock when they came in contact with both the electric range and the toaster oven at the same time.
