Incident overview
At a single-family home, an electrical hot tub control box burnt causing loss of power to the home. The hot tub was installed in 2021 with a #6 AWG aluminum armoured feeder cable (ACWU), instead of the manufacturer required #6AWG copper conductors. The aluminum conductors resulted in high resistance connections that ignited the box when the hot tub was operating.
