While charging a Tesla at a residential home, the homeowner smelled burning rubber in the detached garage. The owner found a receptacle, which was used for EV (Electric Vehicle) charging, that had failed due to excessive heat. Arcing and heat damage occurred, and the receptacle was burnt beyond repair.
