Primary Restraining Device Loosens During Ride

Incident Overview

During operation of an amusement ride, the primary safety restraining device failed, resulting in one of the shoulder restraints loosening. The redundant secondary safety for the restraint remained functional, limiting the amount of movement of the restraint and containing the rider within the seat. The rider was frightened and suffered from a medical event shortly after.
