Protocol failure leaves chair lift passengers stranded

Description: At the end of the operating day, two passengers riding uphill on a chairlift did not get off at the top unload station. The last chair had already been called from the attendant loading at the bottom station. The top lift attendant failed to inform the bottom attendant of passengers that were still sitting on the lift. The lift was shut down, leaving the passengers stranded on the lift.
Improper protocol of the chairlift attendants most likely caused passengers to be left on the lift.
