Reference Number:

5576711

Location: Kamloops
Description: A person loaded a chairlift and caught their ski tip in the snow approximately 6.5 meters after the load area. This caused the ski to come off of his boot. The lift operator retrieved the ski and informed the person that the ski would be taken to the top by the following passengers on the chairlift. The person who lost his ski may not have heard or understood that his ski would follow with the next passengers. The person remained on the chair until approximately 32 meters after the load area where the person either jumped or fell from the chair approximately 4 meters to the snow below. The person had not lowered the chair restraining device.
