Recognized electrical training providers and course instructors are institutions or individuals that offer training and courses related to the electrical Field Safety Representative (FSR) certificate of qualification program. Contact these recognized training providers and instructors to learn about and register for:
- continuing education training required to renew your class A, B or C FSR certificate of qualification, and
- courses on the application of electrical codes and standards that will help you meet the certification and examination requirements for a class A, B, C, SA (security alarm), or LO (low energy) FSR certificate of qualification.

Are you an Alberta Master Electrician? Technical Safety BC accepts continuing education courses approved by the Albert Safety Codes Council. You may qualify to renew your FSR qualification if you have completed a course from their approved list of training providers.

For course availability, contact the instructor or institution. SA (security alarm) and LO (low energy) FSR applicants should inform the instructor that they wish to take the low energy systems course, not the one for Class A, B, or C.
Important Information for Training Providers
- Section 20 of the Electrical Safety Regulation adopts CSA standard C22.1; Canadian Electrical Code, Part I as the BC Electrical Code.
- The official publication for use in British Columbia is the CSA standard, as amended by regulation.
- Technical Safety BC assumes all training providers have permission to use CSA Group materials – in whole or in part. This includes use of clauses, figures, tables, and definitions from standards and related documents.
- Only the CSA C22.1; Canadian Electrical Code, Part I shall be permitted for use during FSR examination.
