Technical Safety BC Refund Policy

Fees

This policy explains when you may be eligible for a refund for payments made to Technical Safety BC, including certifications, licenses, permits, and related services.

Eligibility for Refunds

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • We cancel a service, such as an exam or an inspection, before it is delivered.
  • we make an error while processing your payment or application.
  • you cancel your request before the service has been provided: before an exam is booked or a permit is issued, for example.
  • you have overpaid. Overpayments are usually credited to your account for future use and are not always refunded directly.

Installation permit fees may be fully or partially refunded if:

  • the permit value was amended.
  • the scope of work was amended.
  • the job was cancelled and no work started.

When Refunds Are Not Available

Refunds will not be issued if:

  • the service has already been provided: an inspection that has been completed or exam has been completed, for example.
  • the payment was made more than two years ago.
  • the refund amount is less than $100.
  • your account is in arrears.

Operating permit fees, late fees, and interest are non-refundable.
