Technical Safety BC Refund Policy

Fees

This policy applies to all Technical Safety BC products and services, including exams, certifications, permits, and licenses. 

When you may be eligible for a refund 

You may be eligible for a refund if: 

  • We cancel a service, such as an exam or inspection. 
  • We make an error while processing your payment, application, or certificate. 
  • You overpay, and the extra amount can be refunded or credited to your account. 
  • You cancel before using the service, for example, before an exam is booked or a permit is issued. 

When refunds are not available 

Refunds are not available if: 

  • The service has already been delivered, meaning Technical Safety BC has completed the work or provided the service, such a completing an inspection or administering an exam.
  • The payment was made more than two years ago. 
  • The refund amount is less than $100. 

How to request a refund 

  1. Complete the online Refund Request (Form 1020) application
  2. Upload proof of payment, such as your invoice or receipt. 
  3. Submit your request. Once approved, refunds are processed in approximately four weeks.
