Report an Incident / Hazard
Incidents and hazards for all technologies can be reported 24 hours a day, seven days a week by completing our web form or by calling 1-866-566-7233 (select menu option #1 for our incident line). For immediate emergency assistance, call 911. Technical Safety BC protects the identity of persons who report or may be involved with incidents or hazards.
What incidents / hazards should be reported to Technical Safety BC?
What type of report should I submit?
- Incident: A failure of a regulated product, work or operation that caused damage or injury.
- Hazard: A source of potential harm to persons or potential damage to property. Hazards can include unsafe work practices, unsafe conditions, unlicensed work or unpermitted work. Note: They should fall within the technologies we regulate, listed below.
Have you witnessed unsafe working conditions in an area we don't regulate? If so, please contact WorkSafeBC. If you feel you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide please leave the premises immediately and, once safely outside, call 9-1-1.
What specific requirements exist for duty holders?

How can I view incidents reported to Technical Safety BC?
Incidents involving work or equipment regulated by the Safety Standards Act are reported in the State of Safety Report for the previous year. In addition, we investigate many of these incidents to gain an understanding of safety hazards in BC and what actions can be taken to manage those hazards.
