Continuing Education: Elevating Devices Mechanic

The Elevating Devices Safety Regulation requires you to complete continuing education training before renewing your Elevating Devices Mechanic certificate of qualification every three years.

Class A, H, C or MR elevating devices mechanics must complete 24 hours of continuing education training for certification renewal. These 24 hours of training must consist of:

  • 6 hours of trade-specific safety training related to the regulated activities you are required to perform within the scope of your certificate class;
  • 6 hours of Act, regulations and code training; and
  • 12 hours of technical training related to technical competencies listed in your class AHC or MR certificate program outline.

The Directive: Elevating Devices Mechanic Continuing Education Requirements details the continuing education training required for certification renewal.

Your renewal is due on or before the expiry date listed on your wallet card.

NOTE: If your certificate expires in 2020, we will accept proof of continuing education that follows the instructions previously provided in the Information Bulletin: Elevating devices certified mechanic continuing education.
